Dr. MUHAMMED SALIM. A.P
(Assistant Professor)

Dr. Muhammed Salim AP has served as an Assistant Professor of Economics at MES Mampad College (Autonomous) since February 2011. He earned his PhD in Economics from the University of Calicut in January 2024, specialising in Tourism Economics, a field in which he maintains a primary research focus. Additionally, Dr. Salim has a keen interest in International Economics, an area he teaches to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. His teaching portfolio extends to Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Development Economics, and Fiscal Economics for undergraduate students. Dedicated to enhancing student learning experiences, Dr. Salim utilises various online platforms to disseminate study materials in diverse formats such as PPT, audio, video, DOC, and PDF, supplementing the College Management System. Recognised for his scholarly contributions, Dr. Salim was honoured with the 'KN Raj Fellowship' by the Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, in 2016. Moreover, he received a travel grant from the Lebanese University, Beirut, Lebanon, in May 2018, enabling him to present a paper at an international conference hosted by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. Dr. Salim's research endeavours extend to conducting a Short-Term Research Project under the auspices of the Kerala State Higher Education Council, Government of Kerala in 2015, focusing on international student mobility. Furthermore, he has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects since February 2011. His academic contributions are underscored by ten publications across various national and international peer-reviewed journals, comprising seven journal papers and three conference papers.
